How to Create a Google Merchant Centre Account

This document explains how to set up a Google Merchant Center account. Access to your website eCommerce platform will be required.

Navigate to Google Merchant Center and click sign up. 

  1. You will be prompted to input information regarding your business (Business name & website URL).
  2. The next step is to verify and claim your website. This means including a Google tag on the website so Google can verify that you do actually own the website. There are two main methods, the first is to upload an HTML file to your web server and the second is to insert a tag in your website. This step is very well documented in Google Merchant Center.
  3. If you have completed the setup of your Google Analytics account you will be able to use the alternative method of Google Analytics
